Jannik Sinner Breaks Novak Djokovic’s Record with Dominant Miami Open Run

In a stunning display of form, Jannik Sinner has officially surpassed Novak Djokovic’s long-standing record for the most consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events. The Italian star achieved this milestone after a commanding straight-sets victory over Corentin Moutet at the Miami Open.

Record-Breaking Performance

The world number two delivered a clinical performance, securing a 6-1, 6-4 win in just 71 minutes. With this victory, Sinner extended his streak to 26 consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 tournaments—surpassing Djokovic’s previous record of 24 sets.

Sinner had earlier equaled the Serbian legend’s record during his opening-round win against Damir Dzumhur, but his latest triumph now places him alone at the top of this elite statistic.

Unstoppable Form Continues

The 24-year-old has been in extraordinary form, having already clinched titles at both Indian Wells and the Paris Masters without dropping a single set. His consistency and dominance highlight why he remains one of the most feared players on the tour.

From the very start against Moutet, Sinner looked in complete control, winning 19 of the first 26 points and wrapping up the opening set in just 22 minutes. He maintained his momentum in the second set, breaking serve at a crucial moment before comfortably closing out the match.

Speaking after the match, Sinner said:

“I am very happy. This sport is unpredictable, so we try to keep attention as much as we can and we’ll see what is coming in the next round.”

What’s Next for Sinner?

Sinner will now face rising American star Alex Michelsen in the Round of 16 as he continues his pursuit of the prestigious “Sunshine Double”—winning both Indian Wells and the Miami Open in the same season.

The last player to achieve this remarkable feat was Roger Federer in 2017, adding further significance to Sinner’s current run.
