Qatar Partially Resumes Air Navigation with Limited Flights Amid Regional Situation
Dubai: The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has announced a partial resumption of air navigation in Qatar, allowing a limited number of flights to operate through designated contingency routes. The move comes amid the ongoing regional situation and is being carried out in full coordination with the Qatari Armed Forces and other national authorities.
According to the authority, the current phase allows restricted operational capacity and focuses mainly on passenger evacuation flights and essential cargo operations. The measure is intended to ensure the continuity of critical air services while maintaining strict safety protocols.
Limited Flights for Evacuations and Cargo
Under the temporary arrangements, only a limited number of evacuation flights for passengers are being permitted. In addition, air cargo flights are also operating to ensure the supply of essential goods and services continues without disruption.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that regular commercial flights to and from Doha remain suspended for now. Scheduled passenger services will resume only after an official announcement confirming the safe reopening of Qatar’s airspace.
Aviation Authorities on High Operational Alert
The aviation regulator stated that it is currently operating at the highest level of operational readiness, working closely with relevant authorities across the country. The primary focus remains on ensuring the safety and security of passengers, aviation staff, and aircraft operations.
Officials added that all procedures are being conducted in line with international aviation safety standards, ensuring the safe and efficient management of air navigation during this limited operational phase.
Continuous Monitoring of Regional Developments
The authority also confirmed that it is closely monitoring the evolving regional situation. Any further updates regarding flight operations or the reopening of Qatar’s airspace will be communicated promptly to the public and aviation partners.
Passengers who already have confirmed bookings with airlines are strongly advised to follow airline announcements and official updates regarding their flight status.
For now, the current operations are strictly limited to evacuation and cargo flights, while regular international travel to and from Qatar remains temporarily paused.
